Rory update

Rory had an appointment today with the cardiologist.  His echocardiogram looked about the same as last time: the aneurism on his right coronary artery is ("at the upper measurements of") normal!!  He is growing well, but the aneurism has not increased, and it's not bulb-shaped or rounded anymore.  Because of all these good things, the doc decided to take Rory off the plavix!  He'll continue the aspirin for the foreseeable future to prevent clotting.  Our next echo will be in three months, just to make sure there's no stenosis (narrowing) of the arteries.  If all goes well then, echos will be even more spaced out!

Pumpkin picking

We had a great, but chilly, fall visit to a local farm for some festive pumpkin picking on 10/7/12.

Rosie and I toured Whitney Farm on a spooky hayride!  She had been asking to go on a hayride for awhile and it was fun!

Then Rosie and I ventured into the haunted corn maze.  We got lost, lots a great dead ends with spooky scenes.  We went back a second time, too, Rosie wanted to see all the scenes again, and we had actually missed a few the first time!

 We made it!!

Rory checked out the corn stalks while we were in the maze.  They really were as high as an elephant's eye!

What a surprise!  We didn't know Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs were going to be there, too!

This was Rory's first experience with pumpkins, so he was quite intrigued!

Rosie joined, at all times, by Mary Poppins. :)

Tidbits

Rosie fishing in the puddle outside.  She caught a whopper!  ;)

My snuggly little boy.  :)

Albany visit 9/29-9/30

I forgot the booster seat on our last trip to Albany, and my parents were watching Rory for a bit, so this is their adventure feeding him without a seat!

Rory loves cats, as most little ones do.  Those odd, mysterious, furry creatures with the attractive long tail that is just perfect to grab, if only you can catch it!  Our cat Milo caught on very fast when Rosie was a baby; he knew he needed to stay far away from little grabby hands.  She actually was pretty gentle with him, but he stayed clear anyway until recently.  Rory is feistier and every chance he gets, he gets a hold of Milo's fur and just yanks!  Rory is getting faster, and Milo is getting older and slower, so it's sometimes quite entertaining to watch.
My parents have three cats. One hides the entire time we're there when we visit, one sometimes knows to stay clear for Rory, because he's loud, but the other, Buddy, just doesn't understand or doesn't care.  Buddy is the same color as Milo, so Rory gets very excited when he sees him.  On our last visit, Buddy let Rory pet him and climb on him.  Rory was in heaven!

Indian Ladder Farm visit

On Susan's birthday, 9/29/12 we went with her and Rob to visit Indian Ladder Farm.  Rosie had just been asking about going there to visit the animals, so it was perfect timing, and the rain mostly held off while we were there.  We had a great time, as usual!
